In Defense of Homeopathy

10th April 2015
The pharmaceutical lobby is in cohorts with so called researchers.

A  recent Outlook blog damns homeopathy as nonsensical, a mere placebo. And the millions who swear by it are susceptible fools, apparently. Adding to the armoury of arguments is a recently released National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia (NHMRC) report concluding "there are no health conditions for which there is reliable evidence that homeopathy is effective". And, "Homeopathy should not be used to treat health conditions that are chronic, serious or could become serious."

Presence of Nanoparticles in Homeopathic Medicines: Study

KOCHI: A research conducted at the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, has proved that homeopathic medicines contain nanoparticles that are vital for medical treatment.

The study conducted by Dr E S Rajendran at the Nano-Science Lab of the university, using ‘Aurum Metallicum (6C to CM potency)’, has conclusively proved that homeopathic dilutions contain nanoparticles. The dilutions were studied under high-resolution transmission electronic microscope (HRTEM) and energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS). “We are in a position to conclusively prove the presence of nanoparticles in all the high dilutions of homeopathic drugs,” Dr Rajendran said at a press conference here on Monday.A similar study by Dr Jayesh Bellare of IIT-B had also demonstrated the presence of nanoparticles in homeopathic medicines. Dr Jayesh is expected to present the report of the study at the two-day World Homeopathy Summit to be held in Mumbai from April 11, 2015.

City homoeopath ‘isolates’ HIV virus to treat cases

In a first, the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) has been isolated and processed to treat patients infected with HIV through applied use of homoeopathic science. The research paper, after undergoing clinical trials for its safety and efficacy in Mumbai, was published in the Indian Journal of Research in Homeopathy (IJRH) on March 31. While the medicine, called ‘Nosode’, does not entirely cure HIV patients, the successful trial opens up possibilities of future research in homoeopathy.

A Homeopathic Experiment gives Hope for Treatment of AIDS

2nd April 2015

Research at two institutes in Hyderabad is said to have shown medicine from snake venom can arrest multiplication of HIV

A homeopathic experiment with snake venom on human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) has given rise to excitement among scientists to work on a possible relief to AIDS and Ebola patients, according to Global Foundation (GHF) managing trustee Sreevalsa Menon

World Homeopathy Summit opens in India on April 11

1st April 2015

The potential of homeopathic medicine to successfully treat dreaded diseases like AIDS, TB and hemophilia will be among the host of topics to be discussed at the two-day second 'World Homeopathy Summit' opening in Mumbai on April 11, a top official said on Wednesday.

Around 25 scientists and speakers plus nearly a thousand delegates from around the world will attend the two day deliberations highlighting the modern scientific research and developments in homeopathy, said Global Homeopathy Foundation (GHF) Trustee-Secretary and well known homeopath Rajesh Shah, at a media conference.

The conference, being held for the first time in India after the inaugural World Homeopathy Summit (WHS) in Barcelona in 2013, coincides with the 260th birth anniversary of homeopathy's founding father, Samuel Hahnemann, who first propounded the alternative system of medicine in 1796 at the age of 41, in Germany.

"Homeopathy is currently undergoing a phase of transformation. There is considerable fundamental research and development in the field about which the people are unaware. So, people don't opt for it as a choice of therapy and homeopathy remained underutilized and unexplored," Shah told IANS.

On the contrary, owing to lack of a scientific approach, many unscientific theories have emerged giving a bad name to homoepathy, and the conference shall update the real potential of the medicine system to ensure better healthcare in the new age, he said.

Accordingly, 25 top scientists from the world shall share the results of their homoeopathic research in molecular biology, physics, engineering, nanotechnology, chemistry, pharmacology, microbiology, pathogenetic sand cell-line studies.

FDA Pushing To Regulate Homeopathy Out of Existence?

30th March 2015

by Dr. Martha Grout, MD, MD(H)

Why is there a sudden push by the FDA to label homeopathic remedies as dangerous? Why is there a need to regulate substances that have been used for hundreds of years with out any issues? What does the FDA have to gain?

The FDA has published two documents recently, which suggest that WAR is being declared on the profession of homeopathic medicine – or at least on the manufacture of homeopathic remedies, which comes to the same thing in the end. What is a homeopath without homeopathic remedies?

On March 19, 2015 the FDA published an advisory (called a "safety alert") about homeopathic asthma OTC medications, recommending that patients be wary, and that health care practitioners be sure to report any adverse effects to the FDA.
