Australian doctors told not to prescribe homeopathic medicines

The reason of course that they are being told this, is because the homeopathic market is eating into Big Pharma's profits in Australia.  Just like in America, the FDA now want to regulate homeopathic products because $2.9 billion of them were sold last year!!

Joint Conference ECCH and Irish Society of Homeopaths 25th Anniversary

Behind the News: Sheelagh Behan, Homeopath

The Irish Society of Homeopaths is 25 years old. As it marks its anniversary with an international conference, one member explains why she believes homeopathy is useful

23rd May 2015
Homeopathy doesn’t always get a fair hearing in the media, according to Sheelagh Behan, an Irish homeopath and organiser of an international conference in Dublin this weekend. “The UK Sense About Science people have waged a campaign against homeopathy, as has the Skeptics Society here,” she says. “There is much less criticism of homeopathy in France, Germany, Spain and Italy, where it is a more accepted part of the culture and every pharmacy offers homeopathy as an option.”

Nomination of Prof. Vithoulkas as "Doctor Honoris Causa" at Iuliu Hatieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Romania.

On Tuesday 5 May, 2015 at 12.00 PM, Professor of Homeopathy George Vithoulkas was nominated Doctor Honoris Causa at the Iuliu Hatieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

Professor G. Vithoulkas said the following in his speech:

"Today I am particularly proud that, through me, a great School of Medicine is honoring homeopathy, this remarkable therapeutic method, as well as Doctor S. Hahnemann, who discovered it 200 years ago.

Homeopathy has been credited with impressive results in the last 200 years and that attests to its undoubted validity.

Homeopathy is essential in the early stages of chronic diseases, when conventional medicine has no answers and, therefore, it constitutes a complementary therapeutic method sorely needed in medicine.

I am confident that your University will become the pillar of resistance against the destructive storm of chronic disease that is currently spreading rapidly, and that it will bestow the beneficial therapeutic effects of homeopathy upon humanity."

WDDTY and Cyber Bullying

How do you solve a problem like Maria?

by Lynne McTaggart, WDDTY.
21st May 2015

Thank you all for those lovely statements of support after I wrote that our Intention Experiment website – a website devoted to healing the world’s ills through group prayer – got hacked into and threats on me, my family, my business, even my car were put in its place.

I was fascinated to see that among those offering support that the perpetrators get caught was Maria MacLachlan. Maria and her husband Alan Henness are effectively the Nightingale Collaboration, a tiny organization that was given seed money by Sense About Science in order to spend a prodigious amount of time reporting advertisers and practitioners of alternative medicine to the UK’s The Advertising Standards Authority. And many of the ads they've tried to stop are the ones that appear in the pages of our magazine What Doctors Don't Tell You.

As Henness writes, ‘the Nightingale Collaboration was set up to enable my wife, Maria MacLachlan, and I to share our knowledge and experience in challenging misleading claims in healthcare advertising and to encourage anyone who is concerned at protecting the public from misinformation in healthcare promotion to join us in challenging it.”

What knowledge this is is not immediately apparent as the couple appear to have no background in evaluating or studying medicine or alternative medicine (Henness reports his former employment as R&D manager for Honeywell Security and Customer Electronics).

The fact that Maria spoke up interests me a great deal, as Maria happens to be the Community Services Officer of the British Humanist Society, which campaigns ‘for an open society and a secular state with no religious privilege or discrimination based on religion or belief,’ according to its website. (Alan was former Convenor for the Humanist Society.)

Prince Charles 'black spider' Memos and Homeopathy

13th May 2015
A cache of secret memos sent by Prince Charles to senior UK ministers has finally been published, following a 10-year freedom of information battle between the Guardian and the government. The letters reveal that Charles lobbied ministers, including the former prime minister Tony Blair, on a wide range of issues, including agriculture, the armed forces, architecture and homeopathy.
